A subsidiary of the State Property and Privatisation Committee of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan – LLP "Company for the Management of Returned Assets" has put property worth 5.1 billion tenge up for auction, reporters report.

As 'Nege.kz' notes, the company's activity consists of selling property acquired through illegal means. In connection with this, it is likely that the competent authorities have conducted some major investigation, which we have yet to hear about.

Meanwhile, the media have noticed that the judicial office contains documents indicating proceedings between Timur Kulibayev and the Asset Return Committee of the General Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The editorial board of FBK has reviewed these documents. It turned out that Timur Kulibayev has repeatedly gone to court with the aim of appealing the actions of the Asset Return Committee of the General Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan, but the inter-district civil court of Astana returned Kulibayev's applications.

Details of what the Asset Return Committee's main claim against Kulibayev consists of have not been specified. In the appellate instance, Kulibayev requested the cancellation of the first-instance court's rulings, but all his complaints were left unsatisfied.
