Residents of Kazakhstan spend an average of 28.6 thousand tenge per month on basic utilities for a property of 80 m², which is significantly higher than in neighbouring countries. This includes payments for electricity, heating, water supply, and waste collection.
According to Lsm.kz, Kazakhstanis pay more for utilities than residents of Kyrgyzstan (15.9 thousand tenge), Uzbekistan (20.2 thousand tenge), China (25.9 thousand tenge), and Belarus (26.7 thousand tenge). Residents of Turkey pay slightly more – 30.4 thousand tenge, Mongolia – 33.5 thousand tenge, and Georgia – 33.6 thousand tenge.
It is noted that in Ukraine, utilities are even more expensive – 45 thousand tenge per month, in Russia – 50 thousand tenge, and in Armenia – 62 thousand tenge. Residents of South Korea spend 80.6 thousand tenge on utilities, the USA – 104.8 thousand tenge, and the UK – 153.2 thousand tenge.
The cost of communication and internet in Kazakhstan is also higher than in several neighbouring countries. The most affordable tariff plan among the listed countries is offered in Uzbekistan – 1.8 thousand tenge. This is followed by Ukraine – 2.6 thousand tenge, Russia – 2.7 thousand tenge, Kyrgyzstan – 3.3 thousand tenge, Mongolia – 3.6 thousand tenge, and Belarus – 3.8 thousand tenge. In Kazakhstan, the cost of a basic communication package is 4.3 thousand tenge. Analysts recorded the highest communication costs in South Korea – 19.3 thousand tenge and the USA – 28.7 thousand tenge.
It is noted that internet in Kazakhstan is more than twice as expensive as in Russia and Ukraine. ADSL and cable connection services cost Kazakhstanis approximately 6.6 thousand tenge per month. In Russia, a similar package costs 3.3 thousand tenge, and in Ukraine – 3 thousand tenge.
In China, these services cost 5.8 thousand tenge, in Kyrgyzstan – 5.9 thousand tenge, in Uzbekistan – 5.9 thousand tenge, Turkey – 6.2 thousand tenge, Georgia – 8.3 thousand tenge, and in Armenia – 9.9 thousand tenge. The highest internet prices were recorded in the UK – 19.8 thousand tenge and the USA – 35.9 thousand tenge.
As it became known, the average monthly salary (excluding taxes) in Kazakhstan is 288.4 thousand tenge. For comparison, residents of Kyrgyzstan earn an average of 192.7 thousand tenge per month, Uzbekistan – 235.8 thousand tenge, Russia – 317.2 thousand tenge, Turkey – 355.6 thousand tenge, and China – 484.6 thousand tenge. The highest monthly earnings are in South Korea – 1.1 million tenge, the UK – 1.5 million tenge, and the USA – 2.2 million tenge.
