The Anti-Corruption Agency has completed its investigation into a judge from the Inter-District Criminal Court of Shymkent. A number of individuals are also implicated in the case alongside him.

According to the agency's press service, they are suspected of fraud and inciting the defendant's wife to offer a bribe. The bribe of 110 million tenge was intended to secure a lenient sentence.

It is noted that the Prosecutor General's Office has referred the criminal case against the suspects to court.

Recall that in October, information appeared online about the detention of a judge from the Medeu District Court of Almaty, Svetlana Zholmanova. She is suspected of committing fraud against several victims.

Incidentally, it became known as early as April 2021 that Zholmanova was suspected of fraud. During a search of her office at that time, $10,000 was seized from her.

Later, by order of the Chairman of the Supreme Court, the judge's powers were suspended. In 2023, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev dismissed her.

It was subsequently reported that a judge from the inter-district administrative offences court in Almaty, Dastan Slyamkulov, was detained. He is suspected of repeatedly receiving bribes. Furthermore, five employees of the Almaty Police Department are being investigated as suspected accomplices, three of whom are police officers from the Zhetysu district.

In November, the chairman of the city court in Uralsk, Ruslan Zhumagulov, was detained while receiving a bribe. It was reported that the bribe of 1.5 million tenge was intended to secure a favourable decision to replace a convicted person's criminal sentence with a fine.
