Mobile operator Kcell has a new shareholder — JSC «Zhasyl Damu», which as of 1 July 2025 holds 5.53% of shares.
As reported by Kursiv.media citing the Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE), according to requirements, issuers must disclose information about all owners whose stake exceeds 5% of the total number of placed shares.
Until the second quarter of this year, JSC «Zhasyl Damu» did not appear in the lists of major shareholders, which may indicate either a complete purchase of the entire stake or a slight increase in an already existing holding.
The market price of one Kcell share from 1 April to 30 June ranged from 3,245 to 3,400 tenge. Thus, the company could have acquired from 1.08 million to 11.06 million shares for an amount from 3.5 billion to 37.6 billion tenge — depending on the size of the transaction.
JSC «Zhasyl Damu» is the state operator of the recycling fee system and is under the authority of the Committee of State Property and Privatisation of the Ministry of Finance of Kazakhstan.
Other shareholders of Kcell include:
- JSC «Kazakhtelecom» — 51% (majority shareholder);
- KC Holding (Galymzhan Yessenov) — 14.87%;
- Alatau City Bank (Vyacheslav Kim) — 9.08%, plus 0.02% for the second quarter;
