About 19.5 billion tenge are being requested for the budget programme for the Baiterek rocket complex.
_____________
For reference: The Baiterek Space Rocket Complex is a joint project between Kazakhstan and Russia to create an organisational and technical structure for launching spacecraft from the Baikonur Cosmodrome using environmentally friendly launch vehicles, replacing the Proton rocket, which uses toxic fuel components.

According to media reports, 6.3 billion tenge were allocated for the creation of the Baiterek space rocket complex in 2023, and a further 13.2 billion tenge are planned for this in 2025.

The purpose of allocating the funds is to develop and support the aerospace industry, and the task is to achieve 25.8% completion of the rocket complex in 2024.

The expenditure has been directed towards modernising the existing Zenit-M space rocket complex for launches of new-generation rockets, which will carry out unmanned space programmes.

“The implementation of the project will form the basis for ensuring the socio-economic stability of the Republic of Kazakhstan and will serve as an example of mutually beneficial cooperation between countries within the framework of the Common Economic Space, which will allow for an increase in the level of completion of the creation of the Baiterek space rocket complex and will impact the development and maintenance of the aerospace industry”, is stated in the description of the budget programme project.
