In Aktobe, prosecutors uncovered an illegal attempt to sell human organs.
According to the press service of the department, during an online monitoring operation, prosecutor's office staff received information about a possible illegal deal involving the sale of internal organs.
"On 25 September 2024, as part of operational-search activities initiated by the prosecutor's office, officers of the Department for Organised Crime Control detained a citizen, E., who intended to carry out an illegal deal to sell his internal organs for a total of 9 million tenge", the statement reads.
On this matter, law enforcement officers have launched a pre-trial investigation.
Recall that in February, in Kokshetau police thwarted the sale of a human organ. A native of Aktobe valued his kidney at $18,000 and placed an advertisement online. He offered the organ for sale, stipulating the mandatory condition that the potential buyer must arrange the future surgical operation.
As is known, the first crime in this area in Kazakhstan was recorded in 2015. At that time, the investigation established that in Astana, the parties had agreed on the sale of a kidney for transplantation for the sum of $15,000. In 2016, the buyer was sentenced to one and a half years of probation.
