The head of the state property and privatisation committee of the Karaganda region is suspected of corruption.

The Anti-Corruption Service has reported the completion of the pre-trial investigation into the head of one of the departments of the Karaganda region and his subordinate.

According to the press service of the agency, they are suspected of receiving a bribe in the amount of 1 million tenge for signing an act of completed work.

In addition, the head and his subordinate are accused of embezzling budget funds by a group of persons through the unjustified transfer of salaries, bonuses, and travel expenses totalling 2.5 million tenge to the accounts of fictitiously employed workers.

Meanwhile, sources from the FBRC report that this refers to the head of the department of the state property and privatisation committee of the Karaganda region.

The committee's website states that the head of the department is Dastan Khamzin. He took up this post in February last year. Prior to this, he headed the department of state property and privatisation of the Ulytau region.
