The Anti-Corruption Service of the East Kazakhstan Region has exposed the head of the corporate fund "Shygys" of the Kazakh Society of the Deaf for fraud.
According to the department's press service, she is suspected of misappropriating 115 million tenge of budget funds.
It is reported that she transferred this amount supposedly for the payment of sign language interpretation services provided to disabled people by specialists.
Recall that in April it became known that the State Institution "Department for Coordination of Employment and Social Programmes of Pavlodar Region" had entered into contracts with LLP "Art-Class" and the Public Association of Disabled People "Ayum and D" for the supply of laptops and mobile phones. The total value of the procurement was more than 476 million tenge.
However, the supplier purchased cheap electronic alternatives that did not meet the stated technical specifications. This caused damage of nearly 133 million tenge.
In May it was reported that employees of the departments of the Pavlodar akimat and the office of the akim of Pavlodar district embezzled more than 89 million tenge from the budget. From August 2022 to September 2023, they received illegal payments for the work of individual assistants for disabled people.
