Funding for the construction of a sports complex in the village of Zerenda, Akmola Region, and a music school in the village of Temirlan, Turkistan Region, is planned to be allocated from the Special State Fund, which has currently accumulated 177 billion tenge in assets returned to the state.
"These initiatives are aimed at developing social infrastructure in rural areas to increase residents' access to educational and sports services," the statement said.
The sports complex in Zerenda, costing 2.1 billion tenge, is expected to have an area of more than 6,000 m2, with a capacity to accommodate over 80 people per shift.
"The facility will provide leisure activities for the active population – in the district, over 14,500 people regularly engage in sports. According to the project, the centre will be equipped for wrestling, boxing, and skiing disciplines, and will be fitted with the necessary equipment for 2 gyms. The sports complex will also include storage rooms and other auxiliary facilities needed for comfortable training and quality recovery for athletes," the statement said.
In the village of Temirlan, the new arts school, for which 890 million tenge is proposed to be allocated, plans to teach up to 300 students. Children will have the opportunity to study music and choreography.
"The existing frame building, built in 1974, does not meet modern sanitary and fire safety requirements and is not suitable for major renovation. However, the centre is currently considered operational – up to 420 children are being taught there, which is twice its current capacity, with 45 teachers on staff," the government reported.
Recall, in May last year, it was reported that in Atyrau, 6 billion tenge seized from corrupt officials would be used to fund the construction of two schools with 600 places each.
In April, it was reported that money from corrupt officials would complete the construction of 69 educational institutions. Part of these funds were intended to be directed towards building schools in the Turkistan Region.
