The Financial Monitoring Agency (FMA) has detained former First Vice-Minister of Labour Akkmadi Sarbasov. This was reported by the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population.
According to Informburo.kz, Sarbasov is the president of JSC "Centre for the Development of Labour Resources", which is under the authority of the Ministry of Labour. He held the position of First Vice-Minister from 2020 to 2025.
"The Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population confirms the fact of the detention of the head of JSC 'Centre for the Development of Labour Resources'. The Ministry is assisting the investigative authorities in accordance with the established procedure. All questions regarding the progress of the investigation fall within the competence of the authorised bodies," the statement said.
The reasons for the detention of Akkmadi Sarbasov have not yet been disclosed.
