The Prosecutor's Office of the Mangystau Region has uncovered embezzlement of more than 27 million tenge at the football club "Kaspiy". It is reported that the money was allocated for training camps.
According to the press service of the department, during the investigation into the embezzlement, it emerged that the former head of the club, along with two acquaintances, used physical force in an attempt to force a club employee to change their testimony. Furthermore, they extorted 15 million tenge from him.
It is worth noting that the prosecutor's office did not specify which case the victim was giving testimony on.
"On 3.12.2024, the arrest of the former head of the football club and citizens 'K' and 'O' was authorised. Other details are not disclosed in the interests of the investigation.", - the statement reads.
Recall that in the winter of 2023, football players from Aktau of FC "Kaspiy" trained and lived in Antalya for about two weeks. They were accommodated in a five-star hotel, but upon completion of the training camp, they left without paying. The Turkish side took the team to court.
After a series of court proceedings, FC was ordered to pay the debt amount of €230,521 and a penalty of €1,000, as well as court costs for the state fee of 3.3 million tenge and for the legal representative's fees of 3.9 million tenge.
