A verdict has been announced in the Taldykorgan city court against the former director of the FC Zhetysu football club, Kalmukhamet Donsebayev.
According to the Anti-Corruption press service, he was found guilty of embezzling budget funds totalling 31.9 million tenge. The money had been allocated for the nutrition of the club's football players during training camps.
It is noted that due to full restitution of damages and the presence of a serious illness, Donsebayev was sentenced to 7 years of restricted freedom with a lifetime ban from holding positions in the civil service and in quasi-public sector entities.
Recall that Kalmukhamet Donsebayev was detained in June last year. The reasons for the arrest were not disclosed at the time, however, a number of media outlets, citing the Anti-Corruption service, reported that Donsebayev was suspected of embezzling budget funds totalling 85.4 million tenge.
In August, the sports director of FC Zhetysu, Daulet Imankulov, was found guilty of embezzling 5.5 million tenge. He was sentenced to 3 years and 6 months of restricted freedom.
