A verdict has been announced in Aktau for the former chairman of the city court, Baurzhan Shaidullin, and a private bailiff, Rinat Dzhankhmetov.
According to Lada.kz, they were found guilty of fraud and inciting a female defendant to offer a bribe of 20 million tenge. The bribe was intended to secure a lenient sentence. It has become known that the bailiff acted as an intermediary in the transfer of the money.
As a result, Shaidullin was sentenced to 9 years in prison in a medium-security facility, while Dzhankhmetov received a sentence of 8 years in prison.
Recall that in October last year, information appeared online about the detention of the former judge of the Medeu District Court of Almaty, Svetlana Zholmanova. It was reported at the time that she was suspected of committing fraud against several victims.
Incidentally, the fact that Zholmanova was caught for fraud became known back in April 2021, when $10,000 was seized from her during a search of her office. Later, by order of the Chairman of the Supreme Court, her judicial powers were suspended. In 2023, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev dismissed her.
In March of this year, the former judge's case was sent to court for consideration. New details of the investigation also emerged at that time. The press service of the city prosecutor's office noted that from 2021 to 2024, Zholmanova, under the pretext of helping to purchase property and participate in tender projects, embezzled more than 1 billion tenge from citizens.
