The secretary of the head of the children's educational and health complex of the education department of Rudny was convicted of fraud.
According to the press service of the Supreme Court, she sent messages to potential clients about supposedly ongoing promotions, through which it was possible to book vouchers for children's camps with a 50% discount. Payment was made to her personal accounts.
"She began sending messages to those who had previously purchased vouchers about supposedly ongoing promotions, through which it was possible to book vouchers for camps early for the summer season of 2023 at 2022 prices and with a 50% discount, stating that there would subsequently be no available places and that the cost of vouchers would increase", the statement reads.
Having access to the vouchers and making copies of them, the defendant then handed them over to buyers. As a result of the secretary's criminal actions, the state suffered damage amounting to 18.4 million tenge.
The court found the defendant guilty and sentenced her to 5 years' imprisonment suspended for 5 years, due to the presence of a young child. The institution's civil claim was satisfied, and 16 million tenge was recovered from the convicted person as compensation for material damage.
Recall that in July 2023, in Almaty, schoolchildren from socially vulnerable segments of the population were placed in a sauna building instead of the promised camp. After the violations were identified, the Deputy Head of the Almaty Education Department, Aydin Sailaubai, said that a monitoring group would be created in the city to control children's camps more strictly.
In August last year, the Kostanay Region Prosecutor's Office discovered a recreation room with a billiard table and a sauna in a children's camp.
In October of this year, in Kulsary, Zhylyoi District, Atyrau Region, parents who had sent their children to a holiday camp staged a mass protest in front of the district akimat building. They said that the children had discovered many cockroaches in the camp's dormitories in Zheleznovodsk. At the time, the Head of the Atyrau Region Education Department, Marat Abuov, stated that the insects had gotten into the building due to bad weather.
