The deputy head of institution No. 14 of the Department of Criminal Correctional System (DCCS) for the Almaty region has been detained on suspicion of receiving bribes.
"On 13 November, the pre-trial investigation department of the Almaty region prosecutor's office in Almaty detained the deputy head of institution No. 14 of the DCCS for the Almaty region on suspicion of repeatedly receiving bribes.", reports Informburo.kz citing the regional prosecutor's office.
Law enforcement officers are conducting investigative actions to establish all the circumstances of the incident. No further information is being disclosed.
Recall that in July, it became known that court No. 2 in Ust-Kamenogorsk passed a sentence on the deputy head of the DCCS for the East Kazakhstan region, K.A. Ziyanov. He was found guilty of abuse of official power. It is reported that he facilitated the creation of favourable and privileged conditions for serving a sentence for a convict – the former head of M. Kumargaliyev's LLP "Operator ROP".
In August, in the Ulytau region, military personnel and employees of the Committee of the Criminal Correctional System (CCCS) were sentenced for using torture. The head of the institution and his deputy were each sentenced to 6.6 years in prison. Five employees of the institution and four military personnel received sentences ranging from 4 to 4.5 years in prison.
In October, in Karaganda, a sentence was passed on a senior operative of the Department of Criminal Correctional System (DCCS) for the Karaganda region and the Ulytau region for torturing a convict.
At the beginning of November, in Ust-Kamenogorsk, employees of the Department of Criminal Correctional System (DCCS) of the East Kazakhstan region were sentenced. The former deputy head of institution No. 17 and a senior inspector were found guilty of embezzling 5.8 million tenge.
