Information has appeared on the public procurement portal that the akimat of the Baiganin District in the Aktobe Region has purchased a Tank 500 off-road vehicle costing 27,678,571 tenge.
According to BaigeNews.kz, the technical specification states that the vehicle must have all-wheel drive, an automatic transmission, and a powerful V6 engine.
Furthermore, the vehicle must have a massage and ventilation function for the seats, a panoramic roof, adaptive cruise control, a surround-view camera, a premium audio system, and an electronic parking assistance system.
The tender has already ended, and the winner of the competition was West Line Ltd LLP. According to the terms of the contract, the company must deliver the off-road vehicle within 30 days.
In turn, the district akimat provided an explanation for the necessity of the purchase. As reported, the Baiganin District is one of the most remote areas, with 85.6% of local roads in unsatisfactory condition. Additionally, some rural districts are 300 kilometres from the district centre.
It also emerged that the last official vehicle for the district was purchased in 2018, but it broke down in October 2024. Currently, the akim travels in a 2006 Toyota Camry 40, which is unsuitable for driving off-road.
"The rural settlements are spread over considerable distances, and many are difficult to reach. An off-road vehicle is necessary for the effective work of the akimat", the department concluded.
