Previously hidden details of the contract between the «Kazakhstan Football Federation» (KFF) and the Russian specialist Stanislav Cherchesov, who is currently the head coach of the Kazakhstan national football team, have emerged.
Stanislav Cherchesov has held the position of head football coach of Kazakhstan since June. His contract with the KFF runs until the end of the World Cup in 2026. According to Legalbet, the contract contains a penalty clause - in the event that one of the parties fails to fulfil its obligations.
The document states that if the Russian coach is invited by another club, then either that club, or Cherchesov himself, must pay the Kazakhstan Football Federation €1 million (approximately 530 million tenge). If the KFF leadership decides to dismiss Stanislav Cherchesov, the federation must also pay the coach €1 million as compensation.
This clause in the contract partly explains why Stanislav Cherchesov has still not been removed from his position. After all, speaking of his professional achievements, since Cherchesov's appointment, the Kazakhstan national team has not achieved a single victory.
Furthermore, the Kazakh public is dissatisfied with the Russian coach's behaviour. As a reminder, Cherchesov's humour is often assessed as a display of disrespect towards the Kazakh language and society as a whole. Not so long ago, one such joke cost the Russian coach 200 MCI (738,400 tenge).
Kazakhstanis were perplexed as to why, despite such antics, Stanislav Cherchesov retained the title of head football coach in Kazakhstan. It was assumed that the reason was that he was a man of the then-current KFF president Adilet Barmenkulov.
But the day after Barmenkulov announced that he had decided to leave his post, information appeared in the media claiming that Cherchesov knew about possible changes in the leadership of the Kazakhstan Football Federation and the possible resignation of Barmenkulov even before signing his contract.
Incidentally, before leaving his post, Adilet Barmenkulov proposed excluding the Football Federation of the Abai Region from the Kazakhstan Football Federation, reports football manager Nasima Korganbekova.
According to her information, regions are currently receiving letters from the federation's general secretary Andrei Dudin, who worked with Barmenkulov. It is reported that on 19 November a general meeting will be held to discuss six agenda items, among which is the suspension of membership of the Football Federation of the Abai Region.
As a reminder, the editorial board of FBRK has repeatedly written that the activities of Adilet Barmenkulov as president of the KFF were regularly subjected to criticism from football fans and even raised doubts among UEFA leadership.
About why the public was dissatisfied with Barmenkulov's work as head of the football federation, which corruption scandals he was involved in, and what business he managed to acquire, can be read at the link.
