The depositors of the "Qnet" financial pyramid in Petropavlovsk lost 100 million tenge

A verdict has been passed in Petropavl against former police officers and a businessman. They were accused of creating and leading a structural subdivision of the financial pyramid ‘Qnet’.

According to the press service of the North Kazakhstan Region Prosecutor's Office, the defendants included the head of the individual enterprise Kamaliyev E.Zh., the former head of the district police department named after M. Zhumabayev and Ministry of Internal Affairs pensioner Isin N.Sh., Ministry of Internal Affairs pensioner Syzdykov S.N., as well as citizens Ilyubaeva A.P. and Kamaliyeva R.Zh.

In addition, Kamaliyev E.Zh. was also convicted for legalising money obtained through criminal means.

‘The convicts were accused of illegally obtaining criminal income from the illegal activities of the financial pyramid “Qnet”, which was not registered in the Republic of Kazakhstan, by a group of persons acting in a preliminary conspiracy on the territory of the North Kazakhstan Region between 2018 and 2021,’ the statement reads.

It has become known that 110 investors of the financial pyramid lost more than 100 million tenge. The court found all the defendants guilty and sentenced them to imprisonment.

It will be recalled that in May of last year, it was reported that the financial pyramid ‘Qnet’ from 2018 to 2020 attracted 231 Kazakhstani citizens and caused total material damage of more than 220 million tenge.

In January, the organiser of a branch of the financial pyramid ‘Qnet’ in the Aktobe region received 5 years in prison. He was accused of creating and leading a structural subdivision of a company whose activities were disguised as network marketing.

In July, the head of the financial pyramid ‘Qnet’ in the Kostanay region was sentenced to 6 years in prison. Her victims were 94 people. The damage amounted to 86 million tenge.
