A criminal case regarding the poor-quality construction of residential houses has been sent to court in Aktobe.
"The Prosecutor's Office of the Aktobe Region has completed a pre-trial investigation under Article 190, Part 4, Paragraph 2, Article 278, Part 2, and Article 280, Part 1 of the Criminal Code (fraud, poor-quality construction, as well as improper performance of expert work or engineering services)", reported the press service of the Aktobe Region Prosecutor's Office.
It became known that in 2018, the State Institution "Construction Department of Aktobe" and Mashate LLP entered into a contract worth approximately 337 million tenge for the construction of two 24-apartment residential buildings. Construction was subsequently transferred to the subcontractor Agro-Service LLP.
As a result, the residential buildings were put into operation in October 2019, but soon cracks appeared in the foundations of the houses.
Experts concluded that the houses are in a dangerous condition, are unfit for use, and are recommended for demolition, and that the technical characteristics of the concrete blocks do not meet GOST requirements.
"Based on the totality of all collected evidence, pre-trial restrictions in the form of 'house arrest' and 'bail' have been selected for the suspects. Currently, the regional prosecutor's office has sent the criminal case against four suspects to Court No. 2 of Aktobe for consideration on its merits", the statement said.
