In the Aktobe region, a police officer, while driving under the influence of alcohol, hit a married couple. The husband and wife died.

"According to preliminary information, a 34-year-old police officer got behind the wheel of a Kia while intoxicated, lost control, and hit a married couple aged 25 and 26," reported the publication "My City".

It was also reported that the officer initially tried to flee the scene of the accident but later gave himself up.

For their part, the regional police department confirmed this information and announced the driver's arrest.

"An internal investigation was conducted, as a result of which seven responsible employees, including immediate supervisors, were dismissed from their posts," the police statement said.

Recall that earlier, a video was sent to the FBRK bot showing a blogger exposing an Anti-Corruption Service officer Syrym Yesbosynov driving while intoxicated. After which he called the police and ensured everything was done according to the law.

However, in the end, Yesbosynov was convicted for refusing to undergo a medical examination to establish alcohol consumption. As a result, he was banned from driving for 8 years.

Later, Yesbosynov considered the punishment unfair and filed an appeal with the court of the Abai region, but the court panel upheld the original decision.
