In the village of Shyranak in the Kegen district of the Almaty region, the death of a two-year-old child from an electric shock is being investigated.
According to Informburo.kz, the boy died after grabbing a wire. Shortly before the incident, employees of Kazakhtelecom had been carrying out work on electricity poles at the scene.
Meanwhile, Kazakhtelecom expressed its condolences to the family and friends of the deceased child.
"The company's staff deeply sympathise with and share the parents' grief. Kazakhtelecom will provide comprehensive assistance, including financial support, to the family of the deceased child," the statement said.
The company also promised that all those responsible for the tragedy would be punished.
"Currently, investigative measures are being carried out at the scene of the accident by the internal affairs bodies, and the circumstances and the person responsible for the breakage of the power transmission cable are being ascertained. The company, along with all interested parties, is awaiting the preliminary report," Kazakhtelecom concluded.
