In the Turkestan region, a meeting of the regional headquarters for monitoring the road industry was held under the chairmanship of the first deputy governor of the region, Zulfukhar Zholdasov.
According to the press service of the regional governor's office, monitoring results in the region recorded numerous violations in the construction and repair of highways.
Quality complaints have been made against more than 30 contractor companies. The highest number of comments were in the Tyulkubas, Sairam, Otrar, Sauran, Zhetysai, Maktaaral, Shardara, Ordabasy, and Baidibek districts, as well as in the cities of Turkestan, Kentau and Arys.
In a number of cases, technical standards were not met, defects in road surface laying and signs of premature wear were identified.
In turn, the first deputy governor of the region gave specific instructions to the contractor organisations responsible for the road industry, as well as to the district and city akimats (local administrations).
"Every institution responsible for road construction must be responsible for its work. Repair the poor-quality roads and eliminate the defects by 1 June. Appropriate measures will be taken within the framework of the law against responsible persons who fail to fulfil their duties," said Zulfukhar Zholdasov.
The governor's office noted that the elimination of the identified shortcomings will be kept under special supervision.
