Contract killings and the sale of weapons were advertised on social media

Submitted by Вера Александрова on

Recently, the editorial team of FBRK learned that a social media account under the name "Karatel" was being advertised, whose activity, according to its description, involves arms trafficking, eliminating competitors and organising vigilante justice. The page has now been deleted, but we were able to study the details of how this so-called 'punisher' operates.

Using OSINT technologies we gained access to one of the messages, in which the 'punisher' describes a particularly brutal murder. The story recounts a 16-year-old girl who was subjected to merciless sexual violence. After this, her father allegedly turned to the 'punishers' for vengeance.

The message states that a so-called "special unit for the particularly brutal execution of assignments" tracked down the perpetrator. This is followed by a detailed description of acts of violence and vigilante justice. For ethical reasons, the editorial team of FBRK is not publishing the original message.

There is reason to believe that the described situation is fictitious, and the user under the pseudonym 'Karatel' is either a person with mental health issues, or a provocateur. In any case, we believe that the relevant authorities should identify the account holder.

Unfortunately, the modern world is experiencing a serious crisis of trust in law enforcement agencies and the judicial system. Many people, faced with criminal acts against themselves or their loved ones, feel disillusioned with the work of official justice institutions.

The spread of such content on social media poses a serious public danger, as it could provoke real acts of violence or serve as a cover for criminal activity.

The editorial team of FBRK is ready to provide law enforcement agencies with all available data for the investigation of this incident. You can contact us via the bot @fund_kz_bot.
