A pilot agricultural census is planned to be carried out by staff from the territorial divisions of the National Statistics Bureau.
According to the agency's press service, it will take place from 20 August to 30 September in 54 towns and villages.
"The purpose of the pilot agricultural census is to test census forms, methodologies, information systems and software, to evaluate the organisation of field work, as well as the quality of internet coverage and administrative data", the statement said.
The subjects of the agricultural census will be legal entities and their structural divisions, entrepreneurs, including peasant or farming households, as well as households carrying out agricultural activities.
It is expected that the census will allow data on land and crop areas, livestock and poultry numbers, as well as machinery, equipment, etc. to be updated.
At the same time, agricultural expert and founder of the FBRK Kirill Pavlov reported on his Telegram channel that there is mass livestock mortality in the West Kazakhstan Region.
Local residents claim that the cause was prolonged rain - they say this weakened the animals and they began to die.
In turn, the expert suggested that the mortality could be linked to an outbreak of infectious diseases.
"It's hard to believe that, but an outbreak of something infectious is quite possible. We need to 'regulate' more saiga, and then the payback will come more often. P.S. Better not to buy meat from the market for now", the message reads.
