The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has provided Bank CenterCredit (BCC) with a loan of $60 million (approximately 28.4 billion tenge).
According to «Kursiv.media», the funds will be used to develop "green" lending and support small businesses.
«The package consists of a $30 million loan under the EBRD's Kazakhstan II Green Economy Financing Facility (GEFF Kazakhstan II). With support from the Climate Investment Funds (CIF), GEFF Kazakhstan II helps make 'green' technologies more accessible to small businesses and households, as well as creating new jobs», the statement said.
It is noted that the remaining $30 million will be directed towards supporting the country's private small and medium-sized enterprises.
It is also reported that the loan will be «supported by grant funds from the EU Central Asia Investment Facility».
It has become known that to date the EBRD has invested €10.2 billion (approximately 5.2 trillion tenge) in 324 projects in Kazakhstan. The majority of these funds were directed towards supporting private entrepreneurship.
Earlier, the Kazakh electric grid management company JSC «KEGOC» agreed a loan of 58.2 billion tenge from the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
