The government has approved the transfer of 100% of the shares of JSC "ATMA – Atyrau Airport and Transport" to the company QazAir Investments LLC, which is registered in the capital of Qatar – Doha.
According to Bes.media, half of the airport's shares are currently owned by the state through a local social-entrepreneurial corporation. The other half belongs to the Turkish company Mağdenli Yer Hizmetleri ve Taşıma A.Ş.
It has become known that the deal involves the alienation of shares from the Turkish company and JSC "Social-Entrepreneurial Corporation 'Atyrau'". The resolution was adopted on 7 August.
Recall that earlier, Atyrau Airport was fined 500 MCI (1,846,000 tenge) for failing to comply with an inspector's order and for non-compliance with current legislation.
At the same time, it was reported that during a working trip by former Prime Minister Alikhan Smailov to the Turkestan region last year, an agreement was signed with a foreign investor – the company Terminals Holding from the UAE – on cooperation in developing Astana Airport as a multimodal hub.
