A serviceman of the National Guard of the Ministry of Internal Affairs was found hanged by a belt in Shakhtinsk. According to ORDA, the body of a contract soldier serving in a military unit in the village was discovered in the entrance of one of the apartment blocks in Shakhtinsk.

Meanwhile, the press service of the «Ortalyk» Regional Command of the National Guard of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan noted that the body was found in a flat.

«On 13 October this year, in the city of Shakhtinsk, in a flat at the place of residence during non-duty hours, the body of a contract serviceman was discovered. According to preliminary information, he committed suicide due to a domestic conflict», the department commented.

A criminal case has been opened regarding the death of the serviceman. The causes and circumstances of the incident are being investigated.

It will be recalled that against the backdrop of increasingly frequent tragic incidents in the army, Kazakhstanis have created a petition to abolish compulsory military service. The authors believe that the abolition of conscription in Kazakhstan is becoming relevant due to the deaths of servicemen in peacetime. Just in September, we wrote about five such incidents.

On 7 September, in a military unit in Aktau, a conscript soldier died as a result of a gunshot to the head. On 13 September, at the Military Institute of Ground Forces in Almaty, a sergeant committed suicide. On 16 September, in Arys, a contract serviceman from one of the military units sustained a head wound from a traumatic weapon. On 19 September, an officer from one of the military units of the Ayagoz Garrison committed suicide by hanging. On 30 September, a contract soldier from one of the military units of the Aktau Garrison took his own life in the flat where he lived.

At the same time, the editorial team of FBRK tried to find out how many people have died in recent years while 'repaying their debt to the Motherland' today. We sent an official request to the Ministry of Defence asking them to provide data on the number of deaths in the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The department's response can be viewed via the link.
