A lot for participation in the reconstruction of the aquapark in Kostanay has been posted on the public procurement website. The Department of Construction, Architecture and Urban Planning of the Kostanay Region Akimat plans to spend 9.6 billion tenge on the project.
The lot description states: "Works on the erection (construction) of non-residential buildings/structures". Additional characteristics — "Reconstruction of the 'Octopus' aquapark building of the State Institution 'Youth Sports School of Kostanay City of the Department of Physical Culture and Sports of the Kostanay Region Akimat'". The planned amount of the lot is 9,669,753,549 tenge."
Bids for the competition will be accepted from 27 February to 4 March. The winner must complete the work by September 2026.
According to top-news.kz, the 'Octopus' aquapark was built in 2004. In 2022, the building was closed for repairs. In August 2023, the development of design and estimate documentation for the reconstruction of the facility began. As reported, the Department of Physical Culture and Sports of the Kostanay Region had a conclusion stating that the building was unsuitable for use.
Recall that earlier Kassym-Jomart Tokayev called for total savings of budget funds and their expenditure only on solving the most pressing tasks.
"It's time to tighten our belts and live within our means", — the head of state emphasised at an expanded government meeting in January.
