The contractor Interstyle LLP started building a school in the village of Marzhanbulak, Alginsky District three years ago. The facility was handed over in November 2023, and the first lessons began at the institution in February of this year. However, parents of the pupils noted the poor quality of construction from the very first days.
According to the Telegram channel «HALYQSTAN», they even set up an initiative group, which included local activists, education veterans and other concerned individuals. The group recorded the results of a visual inspection of the building in a separate report.
It emerged that the school has problems with the roof, which leaks after every rainfall. The septic tank has been installed incorrectly, causing the sewage contents to back up. After the work was carried out, the builders did not even remove the pile of clay, which remains lying by the school.
"Due to the incorrect positioning of the storm drains, all the rainwater floods the school's sports complex, and in the sizeable puddle that has formed in front of the school, 'village geese and ducks are swimming'. The desks in the computer room are so narrow that it's impossible to set up a computer properly – the system units are kept underfoot and could be damaged. In the chemistry room, the fume cupboard has not been fully installed. There are no mosquito nets on the windows. The emergency generator is not working. The fire extinguishing tanks are not functioning correctly and are not filled with water. The lift is also out of order. Questions have also arisen regarding the installation work in the boiler room.", the statement reads.

The inspection document was signed by the chair of the parent committee of Secondary School No. 22, Zh. Bogenbaeva, and the chair of the Council of Aksakals of the Marzhanbulak Rural District, K. Yesmaganbetov. In order for appropriate measures to be taken, the initiative group sent the report to the relevant authorities.
"The main thing is to put the new school in order. How was it signed off? We have the right to demand that the school, built with such funds, functions as it should and is comfortable and safe for our children and teachers.", say the community activists.
It is worth recalling that at the beginning of September it was reported that in the village of Novonezhinka, Auliekol District of the Kostanay region, pupils were forced to study in a semi-renovated building. Only four classrooms were ready in the school, where lessons for middle school students took place. Senior pupils were taught in the local wrestling hall, and first-graders in the kindergarten.
The day after the media publication, it was reported that a wall had collapsed at the Novonezhinka school. According to the akimat, there were no children or teachers in the school at the time, and no one was injured.
Incidentally, in September it became known that children from the village of Aktogan, Merki District of the Zhambyl region are forced to study in the House of Culture due to an unfinished school construction. At the time, the school director stated that the institution's management had to take such a step out of desperation.
Later it was reported that in the village of Sharbulak, Kazygurt District of the Turkestan region, there was not enough room for all children in the classrooms, and some pupils were taught in the corridor. Teachers even built several makeshift 'classrooms', and half of the building was declared unsafe.
