Airline SCAT has been fined for violating passenger rights during a flight delay.

According to the press service of the Main Transport Prosecutor's Office, on 25 February, passengers on flight 'Ust-Kamenogorsk–Astana' became hostages to a lengthy delay. 

Despite the fact that people waited around eight hours for boarding, the airline did not provide them with timely hotel accommodation.  

Only at ten o'clock in the evening, after the intervention of the duty prosecutor, were passengers provided with a place to rest.

‘People spent the entire day at the airport waiting for departure without proper conditions. The East Kazakhstan Transport Prosecutor's Office responded to the violation of citizens' rights.’ the department reported.

Based on the results of the inspection, the airline was brought to administrative responsibility and fined 1,000 MCI (3,932,000 tenge).
