The 525 billion tenge returned to the state is planned to be spent on the construction of social facilities.

An additional 525 billion tenge has been returned to the state's revenue. The funds are set to be directed towards implementing social projects.

According to the press service of the government, the commission on asset recovery has approved the construction of a sports complex for gifted children with 120 places in the city of Arkalyk, a rehabilitation centre for children with musculoskeletal disorders in Astana, and a training centre for people with special needs with 400 places in Almaty.

"As the Head of State noted, all returned funds should work for the benefit of Kazakhstanis. Since the beginning of this year, the commission has approved agreements on the return of assets totalling over 900 billion tenge. Construction of a number of social infrastructure facilities has already begun using these funds", emphasised Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov.

Recall, in May of last year, it became known that in Atyrau, 6 billion tenge seized from corrupt officials is planned to be used to finance the construction of two schools with 600 places each.

In April of the same year, it was reported that construction of 69 educational institutions would be completed using money from corrupt officials. Part of these funds was intended to be directed towards the construction of schools in the Turkestan region.

In October of this year, it was reported that funds from the Special State Fund, which currently holds 177 billion tenge in recovered state assets, are planned to be allocated for the construction of a sports complex in the village of Zerenda, Akmola region, and a music school in the village of Temirlan, Turkestan region

At the same time, Kazakhstan has begun implementing social projects using the 12 billion tenge returned to the state, which is planned to be allocated from the Special State Fund. One of the planned projects is the construction of a centre for modern culture in Almaty.
