The Mangistau Region Prosecutor’s Office has identified a number of violations in preschool educational institutions.
“Violations were found in the areas of sanitary standards, fire safety, labour legislation, and educational and medical activities”, the regional prosecutor’s press service reported.
Following the completed inspections, around 600 administrative cases were initiated, and fines totalling more than 100 million tenge were imposed.
It also emerged that 15 kindergartens had caused damage to the state worth 72.2 million tenge.
It is reported that 12 private kindergartens unjustifiably received 47 million tenge from the state budget for children who did not actually attend them.
Furthermore, prosecutors discovered that accountants from three state kindergartens had embezzled 25 million tenge.
Recall that earlier in early August, it was reported that kindergarten staff in the Khromtau and Uil districts of the Aktobe Region had not received the salary supplements owed to them from 2022 to 2024.
In May, it became known that heads of kindergartens in Astana submitted orders for food supplies they did not purchase, and issued fictitious documents. The money embezzled in this way was subsequently transferred to the account of a company director.
In April, an administrative offences court in Kostanay fined a kindergarten teacher for assaulting two children. The woman got off with a fine of 92,300 tenge.
