A resident of the Zhaksyn district of the Akmola region is suspected of animal cruelty after a dog died in a neighbour's yard. According to police, the animal died from the blows inflicted upon it.
HOW THE INCIDENT HAPPENED
As reported by the Telegram channel «HALYQSTAN», according to preliminary information, on the evening of 12 July, a female resident of one of the villages came into a neighbour's yard. At that moment, a dog that was tied up broke free from its chain and bit the woman on the leg.
After the incident, the victim's husband came into the yard where the dog was. According to police information, the man beat the animal, resulting in it dying from its injuries.

The Police Department of the Akmola region stated that a criminal case has been opened regarding animal cruelty resulting in its death.
Necessary investigative actions are currently underway.

Police emphasised that any conflicts related to animal attacks should be resolved exclusively within the legal framework. The department called for the use of mechanisms provided by law to hold animal owners accountable if grounds for doing so exist.
