Deepfakes of Elon Musk and Pavel Durov are luring Kazakhstanis into investment schemes
On social media, fake adverts for investment platforms are being circulated using deepfakes of celebrities and promises of super-high returns. One of the victims was a resident of Taldykorgan, who, after seeing the advert, transferred more than 7 million tenge to third parties.
