A man was forcibly placed in the boot of a Lexus car after a road rage incident in Aktobe. Suspects have been detained, and a pre-trial investigation is underway into the incident.
HOW THE DETENTION HAPPENED
According to the Police Department of the Aktobe Region, a report was received at the Operational Control Centre via phone number 102 stating that several men had forcibly pushed a person into the boot of a Lexus car and fled in an unknown direction.
The moment of the incident was captured by a dashcam in a car passing the scene. This footage became one of the pieces of evidence reviewed by police officers to establish the circumstances of what happened.
During operational-search activities, with the backup of special police unit officers, police stopped the car in which the suspects were travelling.
WHAT WAS THE CAUSE
Preliminarily, the cause of the incident was a road rage conflict. According to available information, a verbal altercation occurred between the victim and the driver after a pedestrian crossing the road at a pedestrian crossing criticised the driver's behaviour.
Later, according to police, the suspects arrived at the victim's place of residence and waited for him. When the man left in a taxi, they blocked the road with their car, stopped the vehicle, forcibly pulled the victim out of the taxi, and placed him in the boot of the Lexus.
WHAT STAGE IS THE INVESTIGATION AT
Currently, police officers are conducting a pre-trial investigation into the kidnapping. The suspects have been detained and placed in a temporary detention facility.
