Exceeding norms by 40 times was detected in the air of Shymkent after residents' complaints
Residents of Shymkent complained about an unpleasant smell and a deterioration in air quality. Following the citizens' appeals, state bodies conducted laboratory tests which revealed that the maximum permissible concentration of mineral oil mist was exceeded by 30–40 times. At the same time, the source of the pollution has not yet been established.
