The Ministry of Water Resources commented on complaints from farmers in the Turkestan region about a lack of water for rice.
Farmers in the Shardara district of the Turkestan region have reported a shortage of water for irrigating rice fields after the start of the growing season. The Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation stated that farms with officially signed contracts are receiving water in full. However, the ministry did not clarify the situation of those farmers who claim to have signed contracts but have been left without irrigation.
