A resident of Shymkent is suspected of cultivating narcotic plants and storing drugs for the purpose of sale. On the territory of his home, police officers discovered around 130 bushes and 330 kg of narcotic raw materials and finished products.
WHAT HAPPENED
According to Polisia.kz, employees of the counter-narcotics unit, as part of the operational-preventive operation «Karasora – 2026», stopped the activities of a resident of Shymkent.
On the territory of his home, the suspect was growing narcotic plants, as well as manufacturing hashish and marijuana. He packaged the finished products for further sale.
WHAT WAS FOUND DURING THE SEARCH
During the search, police officers found around 130 bushes of narcotic plants, which were hidden among agricultural crops, including watermelons.
Also, in the house and outbuildings, narcotic raw materials and finished products, prepared, according to the investigation, for further sale, were seized. The total weight of the seized items was 330 kg.
WHAT INVESTIGATION IS BEING CONDUCTED
As reported by the Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Countering Drug Crime of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Yeldar Abdikenov, a criminal case has been opened on this fact under two articles of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan — for storing narcotic drugs for the purpose of sale and cultivating narcotic plants.
As part of the pre-trial investigation, all circumstances of the incident, possible distribution channels and individuals who may have been involved in the illegal scheme are being established.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs emphasised that work to identify and suppress facts of illegal cultivation, production and distribution of drugs continues as part of ongoing operations.
