Famous from a high-profile criminal case, the "axe-wielding maniac" has once again become the subject of a criminal investigation in Petropavlovsk. The man was detained on suspicion of attacking a 54-year-old woman on the outskirts of the city after the victim contacted the police.
WHAT HAPPENED
According to the Telegram channel "HALYQSTAN", the incident occurred on the outskirts of Petropavlovsk. A 54-year-old woman was cycling back from her dacha when an unfamiliar man approached her and asked about a missing cow.
After the woman stopped, the man allegedly pushed her to the ground, began to strangle her, and tried to drag her towards a tree belt. The attack was interrupted by a random passer-by. Thanks to this, the victim managed to break free, escape, and immediately contacted the police.
WHO WAS DETAINED
The suspect was caught within two hours, hot on his trail. He is currently in a temporary detention facility (IVS).
This man had previously been convicted. In 1999, he was sentenced for the murder of a 7-year-old girl, as well as for a series of rapes, robberies and muggings.
WHAT RESTRICTIONS WERE IN PLACE AFTER HIS RELEASE
After being released from prison in January 2024, the man was placed under administrative supervision. According to the source, he was ordered to wear an electronic tag.
Restrictions were also in place against him, including a ban on consuming alcohol, visiting entertainment venues, leaving the city limits, and being outside his home at night.
